Hand Crocheted Willy the Weka

Who wouldn't love to see this flightless wee lass in their living room?

Willy the Weka is lovingly hand crocheted from my home in New Zealand and is made from 100% cotton yarn and filled with polyester hobby fibrefill. Acrylic yarn is used when cotton is unavailable.

Willy is a bit of a home body and who would blame him? Without wings capable of flight, he can't roam very far.

This Weka is 28 cm (11 inches) tall.

Weka are curious birds, who never turn down an opportunity to raid a vegetable garden, pilfer poultry food and even steal dog food from the bowl!

Willy the Weka would love to be owned by a little boy or girl who can protect him from his natural enemies like ferrets, stoats and dogs.

Alternatively, he'd feel just at home with an adult who likes native birds.

Willy the Weka comes from a non-smoking, pet free home.

I can make Willy in any colour combination you like.

Warning: Not suitable for children under 3 years. Contains small parts. However, I can replace Willy's safety eyes with yarn eyes to make him safer for children under 3 years.

Pick up available from Onehunga, Auckland

Willy takes 4 - 5 weeks to create before he is ready to post or be collected.

31 October is the cut off date for Christmas orders. Orders placed in November and December may have longer than normal processing times.
